A Letter to My Beauty Professionals...

We all start somewhere and most of you know and remember what it was like when you were in beauty school and some of your peers barely made it through the first semester, some made it through school but couldn’t handle the creative pressure, and some went from artists to creative GENIUSES!

You get to a point in your career where you have a nice steady clientele and feel “comfortable”. But usually you are still feeling like something is missing, like you have more in you that wants to break out but you can’t quite put your finger on it.

Here are 10 reasons why you should surround yourself with MOTIVATED people.

1. If you surround yourself with people who are successful, positive, and focus on producing results and most of all support you, it will challenge you to be more, do more and share more. If you can surround yourself with people who will never let you settle for less than you can be, you are one of the fortunate ones.

2. The quality of your life is most often a direct reflection of the expectations of your peer group. For example, if your peers are afraid to grow, you may be as well. Watch out who you spend your time with. That may be a reflection of your life and future.

3.  The only thing that changes our life long-term is when we raise our standards. Motivational people do not have set standards. They always aim high.

4. You Become Confident! I honestly feel like if we surround ourselves with positive and supportive people, we will be able to see a huge difference in our confidence level. There is an increase in confidence levels when you surround yourself with people who are willing to do anything in this world buy conquering their fears.

5. They will CHALLENGE you to come up with different ideas. If your motivated friend is arguing with you, embrace it, soak it up! This will give you new perspective and help you think “outside the box” in order to grow.

6. “Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great.” – Mark Twain <smart guy

7. Your goals and targets are at the mercy of your own thoughts. When you decide to change this and start having people who are supportive and share similar life goals like you, you will start drawing inspiration from them.

8. “It’s better to hang out with people better than you. Pick out associates whose behavior is better than yours and you’ll drift in that direction.” – Warren Buffett

9. We become the people we stay close with. Look around your inner circle of friends and the people you surround yourself with. Are they who you would like to become? Do you admire and respect them? Is this the life you want to live in? If not, perhaps it’s time you should consider why you don’t want and open your circle to new inspirations.

10. They help you move forward! By surrounding yourself with positive people, you can cope up with those past experiences and learn to move forward in life. You will eventually learn to alter your thought patterns to a sense of motivation, energy, and excitement for what’s going to come.
