When I say this girl stands out, I mean it. From her trendy style, put together attitude and sparkle in her eye I knew that she would be an instant fit to our brand at Elysian Salon Suites.

When I met Alex, she had a very focused and confident presence about her. You can tell this girl knows what she wants and goes for it without hesitation. It was easy to recognize right away that this lady would go far in her business and she has done nothing to prove me wrong! I am so proud to have her with us, so without further adieu, here is a little bit about Alex Schmidt…

Q: What sparked your interest to be in this industry?

A. I saw so many bad ass people making a living for themselves while doing what they love every single day, getting to be creative and also build relationships with new people… 

I knew I needed to be apart of that! 

Q: What is your ideal clientele?

A: The woman looking for something brand new and trendy. She’s always willing to listen to my advice, but also willing to speak her mind about what’s important to her! 

Q: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

A: Owning/building my own hair empire that’s continually inspiring other young stylists like I was inspired 3 years ago to always be better than you were yesterday. 

Q: What about this industry do you love the most?

A: The way changing even the smallest thing about someone’s hair can make them feel so much empowerment as a woman. The fact I get to be apart of that process fuels my fire!

Q: What motivates you to succeed?

A: myself. Always pushing myself to not be better than the person next to me… but to always be better than I was yesterday, and last week, and last year 

Q: What makes you unique?

A: Honesty. I always strive to be 100% transparent with my clients about goals and expectations! I believe this is the strong foundation to a flourishing relationship with my clientele! 

Q: What is something not many people know about you?

A:  I am a huge tomboy! (Despite my hair extensions and never ending array of clothing…) From Fishing and hunting, to camping and backpacking, there is no place I’d rather be than outdoors!

Q: What do you love about being a salon owner?

A: The ability to build my brand how I want and the flexibility to allow myself days to recharge! 

Q: Who is your biggest role model and why?

A: to say I had one specific role model would be a lie. I follow so many strong female entrepreneurs (not just hairstylists) and they each and every day remind not to settle for mediocrity! I admire all their hard work so much!
